In the title salt, poly[aqua-[μ-bis-(malonato)borato]sodium], {[Na(CHBO)]·HO} or Na·[B(CHO)]·HO, the sodium cation exhibits fivefold coordination by four carbonyl O atoms of the bis-(malonato)borate anions and a water O atom. The tetra-hedral B atom at the centre of the anion leads to the formation of a polymeric three-dimensional framework, which is consolidated by C-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. A Hirshfeld surface analysis indicates that the most significant contacts in the crystal packing are H⋯O/O⋯H (49.

Article Synopsis
  • The complex salt [Ni(CHN)(HO)]Cl·2HO contains a nickel(II) atom coordinated in an octahedral arrangement, with bidentate ligands and water molecules.
  • The crystal structure includes hydrogen bonding interactions such as O-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯O, contributing to the stability and arrangement of the complex.
  • Hirshfeld surface analysis shows that the predominant interactions in the crystal packing are H⋯H, O⋯H/H⋯O, and H⋯Cl, with a calculated void volume of 15.17%.

A series of new pyrazolopyranopyrimidine derivatives () were synthesized from 5-amino-2,4-dihydro-3-methyl-4-phenylpyrano-[2,3-c]pyrazole-5-carbonitrile by multicomponent reactions (MCR) involving malononitrile, benzaldehyde, and pyrazolone under refluxing ethanol in the presence of piperidine. Compound was then converted to 2-acetylpyrazolopyranopyrimidine ( through a reaction with acetic anhydride. The deprotection of using ammonium hydroxide in ethanol, leads to .
