Article Synopsis
  • - The study aimed to analyze the relationship between the shape and size of the mandibular condyle and anterior temporomandibular disc displacement using MRI images of 120 patients while excluding those with certain conditions.
  • - The results showed that 40% of the discs were in a normal position, but 29% were displaced with reduction, and 31% were displaced without reduction, with varied shapes of condyles observed (flat, rounded, angled).
  • - The findings indicated that patients with anterior disc displacement had smaller condyle sizes, an association with younger age and greater prevalence in females, and specific condylar shapes were linked to different disc displacement statuses.
