Background: Cardiac rhabdomyoma (RHM) is considered one of the most frequent benign heart tumors in children. However, encounters with cardiac RHM in clinical practice remain rare. Clinical information is primarily available in the form of single case reports or smaller studies with a shortage of large-scale reviews encompassing a substantial number of cases.

Effect of postpartum oral furosemide use on postpartum readmissions and blood pressure trends.

Background: Oral furosemide postpartum improves the time to hypertension resolution in randomized control trials. Further investigation is needed to determine the impact of furosemide in routine clinical practice.

Objective: Real world study to assess impact of furosemide on rates of postpartum hypertension and readmissions for patients with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

Streptococcal periorbital necrotizing fasciitis: Case series on a rare but potentially life-threatening entity.

Objective: Periorbital necrotizing soft tissue infection (NSTI) is a rare entity caused either by polymicrobial infection (type 1) or Streptococcus pyogenes and/or Staphylococcus species (type 2). A high level of clinical suspicion is necessary to make the diagnosis. We present 3 cases of NSTI illustrating our diagnostic and therapeutic approach.

Effectiveness of a timed praziquantel treatment of school children in relation to seasonal transmission of urogenital schistosomiasis in Northwestern Tanzania.

Background: Regular mass drug administration of praziquantel has a positive impact on reducing the burden of human schistosomiasis, however transmission still persists in many areas. To reach disease elimination; tailored interventions are needed to not only further reduce infections but also to tackle areas of persistent high prevalences of infection. One proposed approach is timed treatment based on the natural disease transmission cycle in relation to seasons.
