Recurrent Bacteremia and Cholangitis From Eroded Hepatic Artery Pseudoaneurysm Coil Into the Common Hepatic Duct: A Rare Indication for Liver Transplantation.

Liver transplant may be necessary to manage infectious complications from severe structural biliary disease. In this report, we describe a 71-year-old woman with history of coil-embolized hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm who subsequently developed biliary obstruction resulting from coil erosion into the common hepatic duct. Resultant complications included recurrent cholangitis, bacteremia, and numerous hepatic abscesses.

The role of MEK inhibition in pediatric low-grade gliomas.

Pediatric low-grade gliomas (pLGGs) are the most common brain tumors in children. Many patients with unresectable tumors experience recurrence or long-term sequelae from standard chemotherapeutics. This mini-review explores the emerging role of MEK inhibitors in the management of pLGGs, highlighting their potential to transform current treatment paradigms.

The world of nanoscales in fluidics is the frontier where the continuum of fluid mechanics meets the atomic, and even quantum, nature of matter. While water dynamics remains largely classical under extreme confinement, several experiments have recently reported coupling between water transport and the electronic degrees of freedom of the confining materials. This avenue prompts us to reconsider nanoscale hydrodynamic flows under the perspective of interacting excitations, akin to condensed matter frameworks.

Introduction: George Floyd's death in 2020 galvanised large protests around the country, including the emergence of the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) in Seattle, Washington, a non-policed, organised protest region that may have differing injury risks than other regions. We sought to quantitatively describe characteristics of injuries related to protests documented at visits to two nearby major emergency departments, including the only Level 1 trauma centre in the state.

Methods: Using the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision code inclusion criteria, we identified 1938 unique patient visits across the two emergency departments from 29 May 2020 and 1 July 2020.
