Combined application of zinc oxide and iron nanoparticles enhanced Red Sails lettuce growth and antioxidants enzymes activities while reducing the chromium uptake by plants grown in a Cr-contaminated soil.

Soil contamination with chromium (Cr) is becoming a primary ecological and health concern, specifically in the Kasur and Sialkot regions of Pakistan. The main objective of the current study was to evaluate the impact of foliar application of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) (0, 25, 50, 100 mg L) and Fe NPs (0, 5, 10, 20 mg L) in red sails lettuce plants grown in Cr-contaminated soil. Our results showed that both ZnO and Fe NPs improved plant growth, and photosynthetic attributes by minimizing oxidative stress in lettuce plants through the stimulation of antioxidant enzyme activities.

A wealth of research indicates that emotions play an instrumental role in creative problem-solving. However, most of these studies have relied primarily on diary studies and self-report scales when measuring emotions during the creative processes. There has been a need to capture in-the-moment emotional experiences of individuals during the creative process using an automated emotion recognition tool.

The clinical entity, COVID-19 cytokine storm syndrome (CSS) is a severe immunological manifestation of the disease associated with ominous consequences. Tocilizumab is interleukin-6 inhibitors that has been shown to hamper the catastrophic outcomes of CCS including the need for mechanical ventilation as well as reduce mortality, but the usage is limited by warnings of reactivation of potential latent infections or immune dysfunctions including severe neutropenia.

The Interleukin-1 (IL-1) Superfamily Cytokines and Their Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs).

Interleukins (ILs)-which are important members of cytokines-consist of a vast group of molecules, including a wide range of immune mediators that contribute to the immunological responses of many cells and tissues. ILs are immune-glycoproteins, which directly contribute to the growth, activation, adhesion, differentiation, migration, proliferation, and maturation of immune cells; and subsequently, they are involved in the pro and anti-inflammatory responses of the body, by their interaction with a wide range of receptors. Due to the importance of immune system in different organisms, the genes belonging to immune elements, such as ILs, have been studied vigorously.
