Clinical supervision is a valued learning tool for student nurses; however, there is a paucity of description around real-time experience of clinical supervision among qualified advanced nurse practitioners. Many qualified nurses claim delays in engaging with clinical supervision may be caused by staff shortages, time constraints, workload in busy clinical environments, or a reticence to engage in discussions that might reveal shortcomings in knowledge or practical skills. This article reviews a process of monthly clinical supervision that has been conducted among a group of qualified emergency department advanced nurse practitioners for 25 years.

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program curriculum must address the challenge of developing Competency Based Education (CBE) curriculum for DNP Scholarly Projects tailored to meet variations in nursing learner preparation and practice, from novice bachelor's entry level and master's advanced nurse practice expert entry level pathways. The recent Future of Nursing 2020-2030: Charting a Path to Achieve Health Equity report by the National Academy of Medicine advocates that competency-based education (CBE) approaches in nursing schools should focus upon the advanced practice nursing population within collaborative academic practice partnerships. This article describes an innovative DNP Scholarly Project Curriculum model at an academic health science center that integrates academic partnerships and CBE strategies that have been developed for second degree Bachelor's direct entry to nursing (direct entry), post BS in nursing to DNP (BS to DNP), Post Master's to DNP (PM DNP) entry levels of preparation.

Ankle fracture-dislocation is a serious injury that requires prompt and appropriate management. The proximity of various neurovascular structures around the ankle joint means there is a risk of nerve or blood vessel damage. Initial management in the emergency department (ED), therefore, includes the realignment and repositioning of the dislocated joint to its normal anatomical position, referred to as reduction.

Controlling the absorption and diffusion of sound in the audible range constitutes an exciting field of research. Acoustic absorbers and diffusers perform extraordinarily well at high frequencies with sizes comparable to the wavelength of the working frequency. Conversely, efficient low-frequency attenuators demand large volumes leading to unpractical sizes, and there is now interest in determining whether the size of the resonator can be reduced while not compromising - or perhaps even decreasing - the working frequency.

Aims And Method: Higher specialist trainees (HSTs) in psychiatry in Ireland were recruited to complete a 21-item online questionnaire anonymously. Questions were designed to establish the research experience of HSTs in various years of training, identify perceived barriers to participation and generate potential strategies to overcome these barriers.

Results: Of 165 HSTs surveyed, 50 (30%) responded.
