The crystal structures of [Ru(terpy)(bipy)Cl]Cl·2HO and [Ru(terpy)(en)Cl]Cl·3HO, where terpy = 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine, bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine and en = ethylenediamine, were determined and compared to the structure of the complexes in solution obtained by multi-nuclear NMR spectroscopy in DMSO as a solvent. In aqueous solution, both chlorido complexes aquate fully to the corresponding aqua complexes, viz. [Ru(terpy)(bipy)(HO)] and [Ru(terpy)(en)(HO)], within ca.

The ligands and complexes were characterized by circular dichroism (CD), UV-vis, IR, (1)H (NOE diff) (ligand) and (13)C NMR (ligand) spectra. The X-ray crystal structures solved for Ni(II)(1R,2R)(-)chxn(3,5-(t)bba)(hacphen) exhibit distortion of the coordination sphere towards tetrahedral in the solid phase.

While it is accepted that both dietary calcium and vitamin D are important and beneficial for skeletal health, the impact of dietary protein on calcium metabolism and bone balance remains controversial. Contrary to the hypothesis that increasing dietary protein contributes to bone loss, research supports the notion that protein may play a pivotal role in maintenance of bone health by several mechanisms; for example, increasing dietary protein increases IGF-1, calcium absorption, muscle strength and mass, all of which could potentially benefit the skeleton.

In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(C(3)H(4)N(2))(6)](PF(6))(3)·6H(2)O, the Co(III) atom lies on a special position with site-symmetry and the P atom is located on a special position with site symmetry . The Co(III) atom has an almost ideal octa-hedral coordination formed by the N atoms of six imidazole ligands. The water mol-ecules form hydrogen-bonded helical chains propagating in [001] by O-H⋯O inter-actions with a distance of 2.
