Background: To study the risks of haemodynamic instability, and the possible occurrence of spinal haematoma, meningitis and epidural abscess when epidural analgesia is performed for cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC).
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data of 35 patients treated by HIPEC with oxaliplatin or cisplatin. An epidural catheter was inserted before induction of general anaesthesia.
Background And Objective: Anaesthesiologists are regularly faced with difficult tracheal intubation. The objective of the study was to evaluate the feasibility and tolerability of tracheal intubation with the Bonfils intubating fibrescope in awake adult patients with predicted difficult intubation undergoing cancer surgery in an ear, nose and throat unit.
Methods: Intubation was performed under local anaesthesia and remifentanil sedation with spontaneous ventilation.
Purpose: Cytoreductive surgery combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) is now a recognized treatment for peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC). The objective of this phase I study is to determine the maximum tolerated dose of irinotecan (CPT-11) when used with mitomycin C (MMC) for closed abdomen HIPEC.
Methods: Patients with PC fulfilling the inclusion criteria were studied.
