Objective: Transit-time flow measurement (TTFM) represents a valid tool in the assessment of the quality of the anastomosis during coronary artery bypass graft (CABG). Nevertheless, a high variability limits its standardized use, lacking univocally accepted cut-off flow values. Our study analyzes TTFM data collected from a study population that underwent off-pump CABG (OP-CABG), with the aim to differentiate into subgroups according to the presence of diabetes mellitus.

The present systematic review addresses the influence of occupational exposures on prostate cancer risk. Eleven studies were analyzed for a range of occupational exposures, including but not limited to firefighting, physical activity, night shift work, chemical exposure, and solar ultraviolet radiation. The results of the review reveal that firefighters exposed to harmful substances, individuals engaged in physically strenuous work, and workers with chronic night shift routines showed an increased likelihood of developing prostate cancer.

Silicone hydrogel contact lenses (CLs) permit increased oxygen permeability through their incorporation of siloxane functional groups. However, contact lens biofouling can be problematic with these materials; surface modification to increase lens compatibility is necessary for acceptable properties. This work focuses on the creation of an antifouling CL surface through a novel grafting method.
