This study aimed to investigate the role of the HALP score in predicting pathological response in early-stage gastric cancer patients. : This retrospective cohort study was conducted on 118 patients diagnosed with early-stage gastric cancer and subjected to perioperative (FLOT) treatment between 2018 and 2023.

Pediatric Cutaneous Leishmaniasis in Turkey: A Retrospective Analysis of 8047 Cases.

Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is common in the pediatric population, but there are only a limited number of studies focused on the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of patients in this age group. In this study, our objective was to investigate the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of pediatric subjects diagnosed with CL. A total of 8047 patients who had been diagnosed with CL between 2010 and 2021 in an endemic region were included in this retrospective study.

Green industry work: production of FeCl from iron and steel industry waste (mill scale) and its use in wastewater treatment.

Mill scale (MS) is considered to be a significant metallurgical waste, but there is no economical method yet to utilize its metal content. In this study, which covers various processes in several stages, the solution of iron in MS, which is the Iron and Steel Industry (I&SI) waste, as FeCl (MS-FeCl) in the thermoreactor in the presence of HCl, was investigated. In the next step, the conditions for using this solution as a coagulant in the treatment of I&SI wastewater were investigated using the jar test.

Bullying Victimization and Psychiatric Symptoms Among Syrian Adolescent Refugees in Southeast Turkey: A Structural Equation Modeling Study.

ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to compare the peer bullying of refugee and non-refugee adolescents, and to explore the association between bullying victimization and psychiatric symptoms among Syrian adolescent refugees in the Southeast Anatolia region of Turkey. The sample of the study consists of 217 adolescents in the 13-17 age group who are school-going, 102 refugee adolescents, and 115 non-refugee adolescents. The study data was obtained using the Sociodemographic Characteristics Questionnaire developed by the researchers, Olweus Bully/Victim Questionnaire (OBVQ) and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 42 (DASS-42).

Investigating the effects of PTEN mutations on cGAS-STING pathway in glioblastoma tumours.

Background: PTEN is a tumour suppressor gene and well-known for being frequently mutated in several cancer types. Loss of immunogenicity can also be attributed to PTEN loss, because of its role in establishing the tumour microenvironment. Therefore, this study aimed to represent the link between PTEN and cGAS-STING activity, a key mediator of inflammation, in tumour samples of glioblastoma patients.
