Extra-adrenal perirenal myelolipoma.

Extra-adrenal perirenal myelolipomas are rare benign tumors that consist of adipose and hematopoietic tissue. We report a case of perirenal myelolipoma in an otherwise healthy man and review the literature.

Percutaneous nephrostomy drainage in the treatment of severe hemorrhagic cystitis.

We report on 2 patients who underwent urinary diversion with bilateral percutaneous nephrostomy tube drainage for intractable hemorrhagic cystitis. Both patients received cyclophosphamide-based chemotherapy and 1 also underwent pelvic irradiation for locally advanced prostate adenocarcinoma. In each case the bleeding gradually ceased during a 1-week period.

Computerized tomography in the diagnosis of appendicovesical fistula.

Appendicitis and its complications are among the causes of an enterovesical fistula, with approximately 100 such cases reported. This condition is seldom diagnosed preoperatively and surgery is often delayed. We report 2 cases of an appendicovesical fistula that were diagnosed preoperatively by computerized tomography (CT).

Serologic and immunochromatographic detection of oxygenated polyenoic acids in Euglena gracilis var. bacillaris.

Acetone extracts of Euglena gracilis Klebs var. bacillaris Cori contain several lipoxygenase and cyclooxygenase products as measured by radioimmuno-assay. Three times more of the serologically active products are found in cells grown in the dark than in cells grown in the light.
