The text discusses the case of a patient who experienced pneumopericardium because of a traumatic incident. It discusses pneumopericardium's causes, symptoms, and complications, including tamponade symptoms and imaging modalities, to confirm the diagnosis and assess complications. Present various treatment options emphasize the importance of ongoing monitoring and damage control principles.

The microvolt T-wave alternans (TWA) has been proposed as a noninvasive tool-identifying patients at risk of sudden cardiac death and ventricular tachycardia/fibrillation (VT/VF). The aim of the study was to determine the significance of TWA in predicting nVT episodes and compare how other electrocardiographic parameters can predict the occurrence of nVT.

One week before the behavioural test the frontal cortex of rats was chronically implanted with intracerebral cannulae. Neuropeptide-Y (or saline in the control group) was injected in a volume of 1 microliter.

The effect of dopamine receptor agonists on the spontaneous bioelectrical activity of CA1 layer neurons in the hippocampal slice preparation from the rat brain was studied. Two groups of rats were used: control and imipramine-pretreated ones (twice a day, for two weeks, 10 mg/kg PO). Dopamine and the selective D2 receptor agonist quinpirole induced an excitatory reaction; a similar effect was evoked by amphetamine, an indirect dopamine agonist.
