Aim: To study the clinical and biochemical features of atypical variants of multiple sclerosis (MS) (tumefactive demyelination (TD), Balo's concentric sclerosis (BCS)) and acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM)).
Material And Methods: Forty-two patients were studied, including 32 patients with atypical variants of MS (6 patients with BCS and 26 patients with TD) and 10 patients with ADEM. The control group included 20 healthy volunteers.
Background: The objective of this pilot study was to assess iron (Fe), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), and manganese (Mn) status (hair, serum, and urine) and speciation (serum) in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients.
Methods: A pilot study involving a total of 27 subjects (13 PD patients, 14 controls) was performed. Serum, urine, and hair metal content was assessed using ICP-MS.
The objective of the present study was to perform comparative analysis of hair trace element and mineral levels in children with Down's syndrome, growth delay, and obesity in order to reveal common and specific patterns. Hair Zn (14, 7, and 15%), Ca (38%, 24%, and 47%), and Mg (33%, 31%, and 49%) levels in children with Down's syndrome, obesity, and growth delay were lower than the respective control values. At the same time, patients with Down's syndrome and growth delay were characterized by 27% and 21%, as well as 24% and 20% lower hair Co as well as Cu content than healthy examinees.

Classically, it has been divided into early (meningitis, meningovascular) and late forms (general paresis and tabes dorsalis). The availability of penicillin and high sensitivity of Treponema pallidum to this antibiotic has led to a widely held perception about rarity of syphilitic forms with central nervous system involvement.
