Electrochemical and hot corrosion behaviour of steel reinforced with AlSiBeTiV high entropy alloy using friction stir processing.

A lightweight AlSiBeTiV high entropy alloy (HEA) powder is synthesized by the ball milling process and is reinforced on SS410 through friction stir processing (FSP). Subsequently, the annealing process is conducted on the processed samples at 450, 600, and 750°C for 120 mins. The grains are refined at 600°C by 23.

A 15-year-old Asian girl with severe atopic dermatitis was referred for dupilumab-associated blepharoconjunctivitis. Medical history was significant for severe atopic dermatitis. She was started on prednisolone acetate 1% ophthalmic suspension three times daily, and dupilumab injections were withheld after the initial visit.

Mutual potentiation drives synergy between trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole.

Trimethoprim (TMP)-sulfamethoxazole (SMX) is a widely used synergistic antimicrobial combination to treat a variety of bacterial and certain fungal infections. These drugs act by targeting sequential steps in the biosynthetic pathway for tetrahydrofolate (THF), where SMX inhibits production of the THF precursor dihydropteroate, and TMP inhibits conversion of dihydrofolate (DHF) to THF. Consequently, SMX potentiates TMP by limiting de novo DHF production and this mono-potentiation mechanism is the current explanation for their synergistic action.

Midventricular Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy with Apical Aneurysm: Potential for Underdiagnosis and Value of Multimodality Imaging.

We illustrate a case of midventricle obstructive HCM and apical aneurysm diagnosed with appropriate use of multimodality imaging. A 75-year-old African American woman presented with a 3-day history of chest pain and dyspnea with elevated troponins. Her electrocardiogram showed sinus rhythm, left atrial enlargement, left ventricular hypertrophy, prolonged QT, and occasional ectopy.
