Diagnostic yield of head-up tilt table test in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and unexplained syncope: the knot does not seem to be unraveling.

Background: Conflicting results have been published considering the diagnostic performance of head-up tilt test (HUTT) in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). We aimed to conduct a meta-analysis to evaluate the diagnostic value of HUTT in the evaluation of unexplained syncope in patients with HCM.

Methods: We performed a structured systematic database search using the following keywords: hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, syncope, unexplained syncope, head-up tilt test, tilt table test, tilt testing, orthostatic stress, autonomic function, autonomic response.

Objective: Chronic heart failure (CHF) management requires a multidisciplinary approach, and it's very important for primary care physicians (PCC) to cooperate with cardiology physicians in this process. In this study, we tried to reveal the awareness and expectations of PCC about CHF management.

Methods: The study was designed as a descriptive survey in a single region and included 549 PCC.

Fabry disease (FD) is an X-linked, lysosomal glycosphingolipid storage disorder that occurs very rarely. Cardiac involvement may comprise of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), arrhythmias, conduction abnormalities, heart failure and valvular abnormalities. The goal of this study was to conduct gene analysis for FD in patients suffering from unexplained LVH.
