Nasal hyperkeratosis in Griffon breeds: Clinical, histopathological features and the prevalence in the Swedish population compared to a control group and other brachycephalic breeds.

Background: In the Griffon breeds (GB) nasal hyperkeratosis is common and develops already in early adulthood. Breed-related features and prevalence have not previously been documented.

Hypothesis/objectives: To describe clinical and histopathological features of nasal hyperkeratosis in GB and to document the prevalence.

Background: A noninfectious, spontaneous, multifocal alopecia has been recognized in Norwegian puffin dogs.

Hypothesis/objectives: This study aimed to report demographic information, history, clinical signs, histopathological features and follow-up information for alopecic Norwegian puffin dogs from Sweden.

Material And Methods: A questionnaire was sent out to all members of the breed association.

Transcriptional regulation and biological significance of the insulin like growth factor II gene.

The insulin like growth factors I and II are the most ubiquitous in the mammalian embryo. Moreover they play a pivotal role in the development and growth of tumours. The bioavailability of these growth factors is regulated on a transcriptional as well as on a posttranslational level.

Expression of the insulin-like growth factor II gene in polychlorinated biphenyl exposed female mink (Mustela vison) and their fetuses.

Aim: To study how polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) affect fetal growth and the expression of the insulin-like growth factor (IGF II) gene in the mink (Mustela vision).

Methods: Ten female mink were each exposed to 0.65 or 1.
