Mutations in the KRAS oncogene can mediate resistance to radiation. KRAS mutation (mut) driven tumors have been reported to express cancer stem cell (CSC)-like features and may harbor metabolic liabilities through which CSC-associated radioresistance can be overcome. We established a radiation/drug screening approach that relies on the growth of 3D spheres under anchorage-independent and lipid-limiting culture conditions, which promote stemness and lipogenesis.

Background: Since their inception, electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) have gained increasing popularity, sparking a vaping epidemic among adolescents in the US and globally. Several ENDS safety concerns have emerged as device features and formats that contribute to heavy metal exposure and toxicity continue to evolve and outpace regulatory efforts.

Objectives: Our objective was to integrate ENDS emission profiles with salivary proteome and metabolome data to characterize exposure factors that may influence adverse vaping-mediated health outcomes.

Objective: The objective of the study was to tackle the recurrence of prostate cancer (PCa) post-surgery and to re-sensitize the docetaxel (DTX)-resistant PC-3 cells to chemo-therapy using NIC.

Significance: Prolonged DTX therapy leads to the emergence of chemo-resistance by overexpression of PI3K-AKT pathway in PCa along with tumor recurrence post-surgery. Suppression of this pathway could be essential in improving the anticancer activity of DTX and re-sensitizing the resistant cells.
