Aim: This study investigates the association between gender inequality, economic inequality, and organizational entrenchment among nurses serving in remote areas.
Background: Egypt ranks low in gender equity across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. In the culture of nursing, gender-based discrimination is among the factors that can further hamper nurses' economic advancement and adversely affect organizational entrenchment.
This prospective ex vivo and in vitro pharmacodynamic (PD)/pharmacokinetic investigation was conducted in patients with diabetes mellitus with (n = 31) and without chronic kidney disease (n = 30). PD assessments included platelet reactivity index, maximum platelet aggregation, and P2Y reaction units. Ex vivo pharmacokinetic assessments included plasma levels of clopidogrel and its active metabolite.

These medications now have indications for non-valvular atrial fibrillation and venous thromboembolism and carry a lower risk of bleeding than warfarin. While bleeding complications are common amongst all anticoagulants, spontaneous hemopericardium is a rarely reported side effect of direct oral anticoagulants, previously reported in patients with concomitant malignancy or kidney injury.

However, there are concerns for individuals with impaired response to clopidogrel.
Objectives: The authors sought to assess the pharmacodynamic (PD) effects of clopidogrel vs low-dose ticagrelor in patients with impaired clopidogrel response assessed by the ABCD-GENE score.
