[Peculiarities of surgical policy in simultaneous reconstruction of the carotid and subclavian arteries].

The authors summarize herein their experience gained in surgical management of twenty-nine patients suffering from multiple lesions of the brachiocephalic arteries. Depending on the pattern of vascular lesions, the patients were subjected either to simultaneous correction of stenosis of the internal carotid and subclavian arteries on the ipsilateral side or to stagewise intervention in the presence of contralateral stenosis of the carotid artery. Surgical policy and stages of simultaneous intervention are described in detail.

[The treatment of varicosity associated with persistent edema of the lower limbs].

From February 1998 to September 2002, 36 patients suffering from varicosity of the saphenous veins of the lower limbs associated with edema were operated on. All of them were provided different variants of intraoperative sclerotherapy (IOST). By the character of venous disorders the patients were divided into 2 groups.

[Differential diagnosis of venous aneurysm of femoral hernia].

Eight hundred and twelve patients with varicose disease were examined, 18 (2.2%) of them had aneurysms in the region of sapheno-femoral anastomosis. Venous aneurysm was diagnosed before surgery in all 18 patients.
