This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of E.coli Nissle 1917 (EcN) on immune responses, blood parameters, oxidative stress, egg quality, and performance of laying Japanese quail. A total of one-hundred day-old quail chicks were assigned to 1 of 4 treatments based on probiotic concentration: 1 (0 CFU/mL; control), 2 (10 CFU/mL), 3 (10 CFU/mL), and 4 (10 CFU/mL).

Comprehensive Iranian guidelines for the diagnosis and management of maple syrup urine disease: an evidence- and consensus- based approach.

Maple Syrup Urine Disease (MSUD) disease is a defect in the function of the Branched-chain 2-ketoacid dehydrogenase complex (BCKDH). It is caused by pathogenic biallelic variants in BCKDHA, BCKA decarboxylase, or dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase. The brain is the major organ involved in MSUD.

Femoral or Radial Secondary Access in TAVR: A Subanalysis From the Multicenter PULSE Registry.

Background: Transradial secondary access (TR-SA) may serve as an alternative to the traditional femoral secondary access (TF-SA) for pigtail placement in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the incidence of secondary access-related vascular complications after TR-SA or TF-SA in TAVR.

Methods: The PULSE (Plug or sUture based vascuLar cloSurE after TAVR) registry retrospectively evaluated data of 10,120 patients who underwent transfemoral TAVR at 10 heart centers from 2016 to 2021.

This review discusses major developments in chronic rhinosinusitis. The latest papers on prevalence of the disease, the burden for patients and society, the lack of awareness, the development of patient classifications and the consequences for the management of the disease. Our discussion includes major developments in the treatment of the disease with biologics but also their limitations.
