Background: Performing quality chest compressions is fundamental to the management of cardiopulmonary arrest. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of two hand positions: overlapping versus interlocking for performing chest compressions during cardiopulmonary arrest.
Methods: The HP2C (for Hands Position and Chest Compression) was a prospective, randomised, open-label, cross-over, single-centre study.

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) seronegative renal allograft recipients (R-), particularly those with a graft from a CMV-seropositive donor (D+), are at high risk for primary CMV infection. CMV resistance to antiviral oral therapy is an emerging problem in renal transplantation, prompting development of new prophylactic strategies. We retrospectively studied the 1-year posttransplantation incidence of CMV infection in high-risk renal transplant recipients, in whom polyvalent intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIg) were used as prophylaxis.

- Out of 23 patients analyzed, both groups displayed similar clinical symptoms and deposit characteristics, but IT/MTGN was linked to associated monoclonal gammopathy or B-cell lymphoproliferative disease.
- Although long-term renal outcomes were comparable, chemotherapy was effective in achieving remission of nephrotic syndrome in IT/MTGN patients, indicating differences in treatment response between the two types.
