In this work, we extend this research by presenting a novel SAT formulation for computing the double-cut-and-join (DCJ) distance between two genomes with duplicate genes. The DCJ distance serves as a crucial metric in studying genome rearrangement.

Alkanes are high-energy hydrocarbons that are foreseen as next generation biofuels. Cyanobacteria are known to naturally synthesize C15-C19 alkanes; however, the titers are too low to make this a commercially viable process. Objective: Physicians often use mobile apps for patient care, but few apps are dedicated to pediatric critical care medicine (PCCM). This study developed a mobile app specifically for Pediatric Critical Care Unit (PICU) residents to aid their onboarding process and aimed to assess whether it could enhance their confidence and comfort levels.

Method: From March 2020 to April 2021, 90 residents participated and completed pre- and post-rotation quizzes with 20 questions each.

Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is an aggressive neuroendocrine skin cancer with a ∼50% response rate to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapy. To identify predictive biomarkers, we integrated bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) with spatial transcriptomics from a cohort of 186 samples from 116 patients, including bulk RNA-seq from 14 matched pairs pre- and post-ICB. In nonresponders, tumors show evidence of increased tumor proliferation, neuronal stem cell markers, and IL1.
