Bilateral and multifocal Warthin's tumor of parotid gland: two case reports and review of literature.

Warthin's tumor is the second most common benign neoplasm of the parotid. Most of cases are represented by a single localization, while only a small percentage of patients presents bilateral lesions or unilateral multifocal pattern. Warthin's tumor has an excellent prognosis due to the low rate of recurrence after surgical treatment.

One-stage reconstruction of a defect of the oral commissure and of the cheek with a radial forearm free flap.

Several reconstructive methods have been proposed for complex clinical cases. These methods are based on composite graft tissue flaps which allow to obtain modest aesthetic-functional results. Only recently, revascularized flaps (fasciocutaneous free flap of radial) have been used.

Rigid versus semirigid fixation for condylar fracture: experience with the external fixation system.

Purpose: Although mandibular condylar fractures are very common, the treatment remains controversial. Many techniques of reduction and many devices have been suggested. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the advantages and drawbacks of semirigid fixation compared with rigid fixation using an external fixation system.

Rigid external fixation and condylar remodeling.

Condylar fractures, instead of other mandibular fractures, play a primary importance role because their high incidence and the historic controversy existent in literature regarding their treatment. Recent studies prove that conservative treatment of condylar fractures, although not determining perfect alignment of the fractured segments, leads to a series of histologic and morphologic healing processes ending with consolidation of the fracture and functional recovery of the TMJ (temporo-mandibular joint). In this study, we observed long-term results of 2 cases of bicondylar fracture treated with surgical reduction and rigid external fixation.
