Background: Guidelines recommend palliative care (PC) for patients with heart failure. However, little research has been performed assessing the effect of PC consultation in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of PC consultation on symptom burden and health care utilization among individuals with HFpEF during the last 3 years of their lives.

We present a portable polarimeter capable of real-time visualization of partial and fully polarized light over a broad band of wavelengths. Our system utilizes a Raspberry Pi computer with a low-cost data acquisition "HAT" and an integrated photodetection circuit. Wide bandwidth operation is achieved through digital calibration of an arbitrary retardance waveplate presented herein.

Background: There is limited evidence of association of nirmatrelvir-ritonavir (NMV-r) and incidence of postacute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC) in patients with pre-existing cardiovascular disease (CVD).
Objectives: The objective of this study was to assess the association of NMV-r in nonhospitalized, vaccinated patients with pre-existing CVD and occurrence of PASC.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study utilizing the TriNetX research network, including vaccinated patients with pre-existing CVD who developed COVID-19 between December 2021 and December 2022.
Critical care is the specialized treatment provided to patients in intensive care units who are severely ill and need extensive care and close monitoring. Hence the present study was undertaken. A total of hundred samples were collected exclusively on those who stayed a minimum of five days in Intensive Care Unit from two reputed Multispecialty Tertiary Hospitals from Kerala, India.
