Musicogenic epilepsy (ME) is characterized by seizures triggered by music. The epileptogenic focus in this rare reflex epilepsy is often in the temporal lobe, although the precise localization is still unclear. A correlation between ME and the presence of GAD65 antibodies indicates a potential immunological pathogenic mechanism.

Background: Temporal lobe epilepsy with isolated amygdala enlargement (TLE-AE) still lacks a definite characterization and controversies exist.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective study identifying brain MRI scans with isolated AE between 2015 and 2021. We collected clinical and paraclinical data of patients with TLE-AE and evaluated the outcome.

Purpose: The utility of a pelvic drain (PD) after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) has been recently questioned. We investigated the impact of discontinuing PD placement after RARP on complications, pain, environmental benefits, and cost savings.

Methods: We identified 1,199 patients who underwent RARP with or without extended pelvic lymph node dissection from 2016 to 2023 at a referral center.

Article Synopsis
  • This case report emphasizes the need for comprehensive testing methods, including video-EEG, MEG, and MRI, to accurately diagnose negative motor seizures (NMSs) and differentiate them from other conditions.
  • The study presents a 62-year-old patient with drug-resistant focal epilepsy and NMSs, highlighting the importance of monitoring that indicated specific brain activity and muscular responses during seizures.
  • Findings from the multimodal evaluations revealed an epileptic zone in the right opercular region, associated with brain abnormalities, thereby improving our understanding of NMSs and their underlying brain mechanisms.

To develop and validate a novel Comorbidity score for Robotic Surgery (CRS) in predicting severe complications after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP). Furthermore, we investigated the impact of the surgical platform (Multi-Port - MP vs Single-Port - SP) according to this score. We included 2085 ("development cohort") and 595 ("validation cohort") patients undergoing RARP at two tertiary referral centers between 2014 and March 2024 in a retrospective study.
