In spite of the documented effect of nicotine on hematopoiesis, little is known about the expression and role of nicotinic receptors in the course of blood cell differentiation.

[The immunophenotypic and cytogenetic characteristics of the blast cells in subvariants of acute myeloid leukemia].

The results of study of morpho-cytochemical peculiarities, antigenic profile and peripheric blood and/or bone marrow blast cell karyotype of 21 patients with acute myeloid leukemia are presented. Hemopoietic cell immunophenotyping was carried out with the use of cytofluorometer FACScan and chromosome cytogenetic analysis with the use of analyzer "Metascan". It has been shown that in the AML M1 blast cell plasmatic membrane carries pan-myeloid CD33 and CD13 antigens, the last having high density of expression, and the CD38 antigen, which is a myeloid cell-precursor marker.

[The efficacy of active specific immunotherapy using modified neoplastic cells in the combined modality treatment of hemoblastoses].

Efficiency was studied of active specific immunotherapy (IT) with cell vaccine consisting of allogenic viable cryopreserved modified Con A blast cells identical with the illness in patients with acute myeloblastic leukemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The studies made confirmed a positive impact of IT on the clinical course of acute leukosis (prolonged remission, keeping down infectious complications), on leukopoiesis, peripheral blood cells enzymatic status as well as on cell immunity, certain factors of humoral immunity and bodily natural antineoplastic resistance.

[The criteria of disorders in body antitumor resistance in subjects with dyshemopoiesis].

A complex of methods is proposed adapted to practices common in clinical and diagnostic laboratories that enables the state of bodily antitumoral resistance to be properly assessed. A diagnostic system of disturbances in the antineoplastic resistance of the organism, which makes for detection of endogenous factors marking a high risk for the development of oncohemopathology is suggested.
