Dendritic spine morphology is associated with the current state of the synapse and neuron, and changes during synaptic plasticity in response to stimulus. At the same time, dendritic spine alterations are reported during various neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental disorders and other brain states. Accurate and informative analysis of spine shape has an urgent need for studying the synaptic processes and molecular pathways in normal and pathological conditions, and for testing synapto-protective strategies during preclinical studies.

We report a case of cerebral salt-wasting syndrome in a 12-year-old boy with severe traumatic brain injury. The child developed refractory intracranial hypertension at the time of injury, which required decompressive craniectomy on the 7th day after injury. The effectiveness of iodine containing additives on the basis of whey protein and milk protein casein compared to iodized salt in the composition of meat minced semi-finished products for child nutrition was examined in the experiment on laboratory animals. Four variants of the semi-finished products were investigated: 1 - control; 2 - enriched with iodine containing milk protein casein; 3 - enriched with iodine containing whey proteins; 4 - enriched with iodized salt. The semi-finished products were enriched at the level of 15% of the daily norm of iodine requirement for children at the age of 7-12 years.

Results of study of callose content and its topography in mother cells of microspores, microspores and pollen grains in terrestrial and air-aquatic S. latifolium plants growing under different water regimes are presented. The increased content of callose in the microspore walls at tetrad stage and pollen grains is revealed on the basis of fluorescence intensity and quantitative luminescent analysis of terrestrial S.
