Benzophenones in the Environment: Occurrence, Fate and Sample Preparation in the Analysis.

The ubiquitous presence of emerging contaminants in the environment is an issue of great concern. Notably, for some of them, no established regulation exists. Benzophenones are listed as emerging contaminants, which have been identified in the environment as well as in human fluids, such as urine, placenta, and breast milk.

Development of biodegradable controlled release scleral systems of triamcinolone acetonide.

Purpose: To develop scleral controlled-release-systems of triamcinolone acetonide (TA) based on biodegradable poly(lactide) (PLA).

Materials And Methods: (1) PLA microspheres containing TA were prepared by a single or double emulsification-solvent evaporation method. Morphology, size, effect of drug input and method of microsphere preparation on drug loading, and in vitro TA release of the microspheres were investigated.
