Freshwater ecosystems, comprising lakes, ponds, rivers, and groundwater, provides essential resources that support life on Earth. Though, during last few decades, the increasing concentrations of microplastics (MPs) in freshwater ecosystems are becoming a serious environmental concern with far-reaching and unpredictable consequences for human health and aquatic life. This study aimed to quantify and assess the dynamic footprint of MPs in the urban river and pond with their potential risks.

Characterizing Cardiotoxicity of FDA-Approved Soft Tissue Sarcoma Targeted Therapies and Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors: A Systematic Review.

: Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) are aggressive cancers that show increasing response to novel targeted-therapies and immune-checkpoint-inhibitors. Despite anecdotal reports of cardiovascular adverse events (AEs) and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) potentially hindering their utility, the true cardiotoxic profile of these novel-therapies in STS has been largely understudied. : We assessed the incidence and severity of AEs and MACE of contemporary FDA-approved targeted and immune-based therapies for STS, using data from landmark clinical trials supporting FDA-approval.

Background: Outcome measurement is increasingly recognised as a vital element of high-quality service provision, but practice remains variable in the field of intellectual disabilities. The Health of the National Outcome Scales for people with Learning Disabilities (HoNOS-LD) is a widely used Clinician Reported Outcome Measure in the UK and beyond. Over its 20-year lifespan, its psychometric properties have been frequently investigated.

Differential effect of ubiquitous and germline depletion of Integrator complex function on C. elegans physiology.

The Integrator is a metazoan-conserved protein complex with endonuclease activity that functions to cleave various RNA substrates to shape transcriptome homeostasis by coordinating small nuclear RNA biogenesis to premature transcription termination. Depletion of Integrator results in developmental defects across different model systems and has emerged as a causative factor in human neurodevelopmental syndromes. Here, we use the model system Caenorhabditis elegans to enable studying the temporal effects of Integrator depletion on various physiological parameters with the auxin-inducible degron system that permitted depletion of INTS-4 (Integrator subunit) catalytic subunit of the protein complex.
