Introduction: People who inject drugs (PWID) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, have a high prevalence of HIV and hepatitis C virus (HCV). While needle and syringe programmes (NSP), opioid agonist therapy (OAT) and anti-retroviral therapy (ART) are available in Tanzania, their coverage is sub-optimal. We assess the impact of existing and scaled up harm reduction (HR) interventions on HIV and HCV transmission among PWID in Dar es Salaam.

Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the sterol profiling and predict the pharmacological potential of marine gastropod , collected from mangrove ecosystem in the South west coast of India.
Methods: Sterol fractions were separated from the crude lipids using 15% ethyl acetate. Ethyl acetate fractions were dried under ultrahigh purity N and analyzed using GC-MS.
There is limited data regarding women who inject drugs, and how harm-reduction services can be made more women-centered. This study explored experiences of Kenyan women who inject drugs, with regard to access to HIV, harm reduction and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. A total of 45 women who inject drugs and 5 key stakeholders participated in-depth interviews and focus group discussions.

Three gastropods, Bursa spinosa, Tibia curta, and Murex trapa, and two bivalves, Perna viridis and Villoritta cyprinoids, were collected for the analysis of heavy metals. The metals in the present study followed the order Mg>Ca>Zn>Fe>Cu>Mn>Cr>Pb>Ni>Co>Cd.
