Internet addiction and daytime sleepiness among professionals in India: A web-based survey.

Background: The likelihood of the relation between Internet overuse and comorbid psychiatric conditions is on the rise. However, sleep disturbances are common psychiatric symptoms associated with internet overuse. Our objective was to examine the association of Internet overuse with excessive daytime sleepiness, sleep problems in professionals from India.

Primary hydatid cyst of brain: Two cases report.

Brain involvement with hydatid disease occurs in 1-2% of all Echinococcus granulosus infections. Isolated cerebral hydatid disease is a rare manifestation of it. In this report, we analyze two cases of isolated cerebral hydatid cysts and discuss their mode of presentation, radiological features, operative procedure and outcome.

Intrinsic brainstem white epidermoid cyst: An unusual case report.

Epidermoid cysts involving the brainstem are extremely rare, with only 18 reported cases in the literature and only five purely intrinsic epidermoid cysts within this group. "White epidermoids", a rare entity, have high protein content and show reversed signal intensity on magnetic resonance images. In contrast to the classical variety, these cysts show high signal intensity on T1-weighted images and low signal intensity on T2-weighted images.

Management of chronic subdural haematoma in a case of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura.

Intracranial hemorrhage is a rare devastating complication of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), mostly presenting as intraparenchymal or subarachnoid haemorrhage. Isolated chronic subdural haematoma (SDH) is still very rare and the optimal management is unsettled. Spontaneous resolution of chronic SDH in patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura is possible.

Spontaneous extrusion of peritoneal catheter of ventriculoperitoneal shunt through the intact abdominal wall: Report of two cases.

Among the various complications associated with ventriculoperitoneal shunt (VPS) surgery, migration of the peritoneal catheter is one of the rarest complications. We report two cases of spontaneous extrusion of the peritoneal portion of the VPS through the intact abdominal wall at an area unrelated to the surgical incision. Both were conscious and had no neurological deficits.
