Background: The infiltration of lateral lymph nodes (LLN) plays a crucial role in the staging and treatment of individuals with locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). This meta-analysis aimed to compare the efficacy of extended mesorectal excision (eTME) versus traditional mesorectal excision (TME-alone) in patients with clinically enlarged (LLN) concomitant neoadjuvant chemoradiation.

Methods: This study is registered with PROSPERO (CRD42023457805).

Objectives: The flexural strength and elastic modulus of rapidly prototyped denture base materials are affected by numerous factors including reinforcement with nanoparticles (NPs) and post-curing duration (PCD), though the effect of these two factors together has been overlooked. The present study tested the effect of nanodiamonds (NDs) or silicon dioxide nanoparticles (SNPs) with various PCDs on the flexural strength and elastic modulus of rapidly prototyped denture base materials.

Methods: To measure the flexural strength and elastic modulus, bar-shaped specimens (64 × 10 × 3.

Fenofibrate is contraindicated in patients with advanced hepatic fibrosis due to limited clinical data. We evaluated the pharmacokinetics and safety of fenofibrate in participants with mild hepatic impairment (phase 1 study) or advanced fibrosis due to metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD; phase 2a study). In the phase 1 study, participants with mild hepatic impairment and healthy matched controls (each n = 10) received a single, oral dose of fenofibrate 48 mg.

This research aims to prepare a new antimicrobials biological macromolecule packaging film instead of petroleum-based plastic products by crosslinking the hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) with shellac and loading it with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs). FTIR and XRD confirmed the successful incorporation of CNTs/ZnO-NPs into the HPMC/shellac- matrix. It was found that loading of CNTs/ZnO-NPs improved the thermal stability of the HPMC films.
