  • A EULAR task force developed guidelines for educating young patients with juvenile-onset rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases about managing physical activity and pain during their transition from pediatric to adult healthcare.
  • They formulated two overarching principles highlighting the need for personalized care and seven points to consider, emphasizing the importance of patient education for a smoother transition.
  • The guidelines are backed by moderate to weak levels of evidence and are intended to standardize care in Europe while encouraging further research and policy development in this area.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study explored risks related to perforation of the labial bone plate, nasal floor, or maxillary sinus floor during immediate implant placement (IIP) in the maxillary premolar area using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).
  • - Data from 179 participants were analyzed, showing a high incidence of perforation, especially in the prosthetically-driven position, and identifying factors like female sex, older age, and shorter distances to anatomical structures as risk factors.
  • - The findings indicate a significant risk of cortical bone perforation during IIP in this area, emphasizing the importance of careful planning and consideration of anatomical factors.

Since sarcopenia is a progressive condition that leads to decreased muscle mass and function, especially in elderly people, it is a public health problem that requires attention from researchers. This review aims to highlight drug delivery systems that have a high and efficient therapeutic potential for sarcopenia. Current as well as future research needs to consider the barriers encountered in the realization of delivery systems, such as the route of administration, the interaction of the systems with the aggressive environment of the human body, the efficient delivery and loading of the systems with therapeutic agents, and the targeted delivery of therapeutic agents into the muscle tissue without creating undesirable adverse effects.

Various studies have demonstrated that directed evolution is a powerful tool in enhancing protein properties. In this study, directed evolution was used to enhance the efficacy of synthesised AtMP1 antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) in inhibiting the proliferation of cancer cells. The modification of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) and prediction of peptide properties using bioinformatic tools were carried out using four databases, including ADP3, CAMP-R3, AMPfun, and ANTICP.
