[F]PI-2620 is a promising radiopharmaceutical for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of both Alzheimer's disease (AD) and non-Alzheimer's disease (non-AD) tauopathies in humans. An array of fluorinated derivatives of the carbazole scaffold of PI-2620 were synthesized and evaluated. binding assays with [H]PI-2620 in human tissues with AD, progressive supranuclear palsy, and corticobasal degeneration, combined with predictions of blood-brain barrier permeability, led to the selection and radiosynthesis of [F]F-4 as a promising radiotracer.

Objective: Compare the effect of posterior surgical approach (PA) vs direct anterior approach (DAA) on speed of recovery from pain and dysfunction and on intrathecal oxytocin analgesia after total hip arthroplasty (THA).

Study Design: Nested cohort within a randomized, controlled, double-blind trial.

Setting: Hospital.

Background: Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most common thyroid malignancy, with a 20% recurrence rate. Bitter taste receptors (T2Rs) and their genes (TAS2Rs) may regulate survival in solid tumors. This study examined T2R expression and function in PTC cells.

Individualized intervention for neurological impairment critically depends on diagnostics that can accurately characterize deficiencies in multiple functional domains. Current clinical scales used to assess cognitive-motor function typically provide only reductionist metrics of performance. Digitization of these tools enables the capture of temporal-spatial characteristics of behavior that may offer insight into domain-specific deficits.

Using the color dipole picture of deep inelastic scattering (DIS) and the color glass condensate effective theory, we study semi-inclusive jet production in DIS at small x in the limit where the photon virtuality Q^{2} is much larger than the transverse momentum squared P_{⊥}^{2} of the produced jet. In this limit, the cross section is dominated by aligned jet configurations, that is, quark-antiquark pairs in which one of the fermions-the would-be struck quark in the Breit frame-carries most of the longitudinal momentum of the virtual photon. We show that physically meaningful jet definitions in DIS are such that the effective axis of the jet sourced by the struck quark is controlled by its virtuality rather than by its transverse momentum.
