Nowadays there is a steady tendency to increase the number of patients with gallstone disease and metabolic syndrome. Increasingly, gallstone disease is called a non-canonical cluster of metabolic syndrome, because the main components of metabolic syndrome are also modifiable risk factors for gallstone disease. This article discusses the pathogenetic parallels in the development of gallstone disease and metabolic syndrome - insulin resistance and hormones of adipose tissue, lipid metabolism disorders, immune factors and the cytokine system.

The authors carried out a prospective study aimed at revealing predictors of acute embolic lesions of cerebral vessels during angioplasty with stenting of the internal carotid artery. The study enrolled a total of 54 patients who between May 2015 and December 2018 underwent carotid angioplasty with stenting performed at the Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery of the Research Centre of Neurology. The procedure of internal carotid artery stenting may be accompanied by intraoperative acute embolic lesions.

The purpose of the study was clinical and laboratory analysis of the remineralizing properties and clinical efficacy of the course application of the Sensodyne Rapid Relief therapeutic and prophylactic toothpaste for sensitive teeth with tin fluoride. The study involved 50 overwise healthy patients aged from 18 to 25 years diagnosed with a localized form of hyperesthesia of hard dental tissues and no signs of acute inflammation of periodontal tissues. After 7 days of clinical observation and daily use of the toothpaste the hygienic condition of the oral cavity in all patients improved: oral hygiene index was 1.

Aim: To assess brain stem dysfunction in patients with hemodynamically significant stenosis of vertebral arteries (VA) using short latency brainstem auditory evoked potentials (BAEP).

Material And Methods: The study group included 50 patients (mean age 64±6 years) with hemodynamically significant extracranial VA stenosis.

Results: Patients with hemodynamically significant extracranial VA stenosis had BAEP abnormalities including the elongation of interpeak intervals I-V and peak V latency as well as the reduction of peak I amplitude.
