Few studies have examined whether sleep is related to dietary intake in aging adults. To address this gap, this study investigated (1) the associations between sleep duration and sleep quality with fruits and vegetables (FV), fiber, and fat intake in lower-income midlife and older adults and (2) sex differences in these relationships. Baseline data from 163 ethnically diverse, lower-income midlife and older adults in the NIH-funded trial were analyzed.

Purpose: To investigate change in diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) between pre-treatment (pre-) and after induction chemotherapy (post-IC) for long-term outcome prediction in advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (adNPC).

Materials And Methods: Mean apparent diffusion coefficients (ADCs) of two DWIs (ADC and ADC) and changes in ADC between two scans (ΔADC%) were calculated from 64 eligible patients with adNPC and correlated with disease free survival (DFS), locoregional recurrence free survival (LRRFS), distant metastases free survival (DMFS), and overall survival (OS) using Cox regression analysis. C-indexes of the independent parameters for outcome were compared with that of RECIST response groups.

Background: Little is known about acute subjective and physiological responses to alcohol in individuals with alcohol use disorder (AUD), particularly as it pertains to the spectrum of AUD severity. This study examined acute biphasic alcohol response phenotypes in participants with mild, moderate, and severe AUD.

Methods: Study data was from the third cohort of the Chicago Social Drinking Project (N = 101, 50 % male; M age=27.

Quantum computers hold the promise of solving certain problems that lie beyond the reach of conventional computers. Establishing this capability, especially for impactful and meaningful problems, remains a central challenge. Here we show that superconducting quantum annealing processors can rapidly generate samples in close agreement with solutions of the Schrödinger equation.

Objective: This study sought to evaluate the distinct impact of fetal exposure to gestational diabetes (GDM) severity, as well as the impact of infant breastfeeding (BF) and sugary beverage intake, on preadolescent overweight and obesity, accounting for other established risk factors.

Methods: This analysis included 850 mother-infant dyads exposed to GDM who reported monthly infant BF duration and intensity, as well as sugary beverage intake (sugar-sweetened beverages [SSB] and 100% fruit juice [FJ]) during the first year of life, BMI measured at ages 6 to 11 years, and GDM severity variables (i.e.
