Transplantation of cryopreserved ovarian tissue offers patients a chance to preserve fertility during cancer treatment. In this study of ten young women with gynecological cancer, heterotopic sites were tested for serum hormones and follicle growth to estimate transplant longevity and prospects for assisted conception. Frozen-thawed grafts were implanted subcutaneously in the forearm (FA) (2 cases), the abdominal wall (AW) (11 cases), and the peritoneal lining (P) (3 cases) .

It is well documented that aneuploidy rate in preimplantation embryos increases with the mother's age, and at the same time the number of oocytes diminishes. Consequently, for patients of advanced maternal age two options are available to overcome these limitations: use of oocytes from young donors, or use of own oocytes coupled with preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) for 24 chromosomes. However, it is not clear which strategy might be more effective.

Recent advances of cancer treatment resulted in the increase of patient survival rate. Treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma (HL) may impair reproductive function, which leads to a decrease of the quality of life of cancer survival. Today different approaches have been developed for fertility preservation, one of which is the cryopreservation of ovarian tissue with subsequent orthotopic transplantation.

The effects of 3-oxypyridine and succinic acid derivatives (emoxipine, reamberin and mexidol) on affective disorders in rats with alloxan diabetes were studied. The efficiency of emoxipine, reamberin and mexidol was compared to alpha-lipoic acid, which is considered a "golden standard" in treatment of diabetic neuropathies. Emoxipine, reamberin and mexidol after seven administrations in single doses, that are equivalent to therapeutic range in humans, corrected the anxiety-depressive disorders in rats with alloxan diabetes.
