  • - The study evaluated how effectively MRI can identify injuries to the anterolateral ligament (ALL) and Kaplan fibre (KF) complex in patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, using 3D proton density sequences.
  • - Out of 88 patients with ACL injuries, 63.6% showed damage to the ALL, while only 17% had injuries to the KF complex; the imaging method proved to be reliable, with excellent agreement between radiologists on injury assessment.
  • - The findings suggest that 3D PD MRI is particularly effective for detecting ALL injuries and should be part of the standard MRI review for knee injuries involving ACL tears to better understand rotational stability issues.

Retinal blood flow (RBF) information has the potential to offer insight into ophthalmic health and disease that is complementary to traditional anatomical biomarkers as well as to retinal perfusion information provided by fluorescence or optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A). The present study was performed to test the functional attributes and performance of the XyCAM RI, a non-invasive imager that obtains and assesses RBF information. The XyCAM RI was installed and used in two different settings to obtain video recordings of the blood flow in the optic nerve head region in eyes of healthy subjects.

An otherwise healthy 27-year-old woman presented with complaints of sudden painless blurred vision in the right eye for one week. On examination, visual acuity was 20/30 in the right eye and 20/20 in left eye. Fundus examination OS was normal, but OD demonstrated an elevated, opaque, yellowish parapapillary choroidal lesion with grayish membrane associated with minimal subretinal fluid, suggestive of a choroidal neovascular membrane in the center.

Cerebral toxoplasmosis remains one of the most common focal brain lesions in patients with acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Diagnosis is a challenge because on cranial imaging it closely mimics central nervous system lymphoma, primary and metastatic central nervous system (CNS) tumors, or other intracranial infections like tuberculoma or abscesses. A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) feature on postcontrast T1-weighted sequences considered pathognomonic of toxoplasmosis is the "eccentric target sign.
