Free radical fragmentation and oxidation in the polar part of lysophospholipids: Results of the study of blood serum of healthy donors and patients with acute surgical pathology.

The interaction of reactive oxygen species with cell membrane lipids is usually considered in the context of lipid peroxidation in the nonpolar component of the membrane. In this work, for the first time, data were obtained indicating that damage to human cell membranes can occur in the polar part of lysophospholipids at the interface with the aqueous environment due to free radical fragmentation (FRF) processes. FRF products, namely 1-hexadecanoyloxyacetone (PAc) and 1-octadecanoyloxyacetone (SAc), were identified in human serum, and a GC-MS method was developed to quantify PAc and SAc.

Transcranial Photobiomodulation Treatment: Significant Improvements in Four Ex-Football Players with Possible Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy.

Background: Chronic traumatic encephalopathy, diagnosed postmortem (hyperphosphorylated tau), is preceded by traumatic encephalopathy syndrome with worsening cognition and behavior/mood disturbances, over years. Transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM) may promote improvements by increasing ATP in compromised/stressed cells and increasing local blood, lymphatic vessel vasodilation.

Objective: Aim 1: Examine cognition, behavior/mood changes Post-tPBM.

[RENOPROTECTIVE EFFECT OF THE BIOTRIT MUCOSO-ADHESIVE PHYTOGEL IN RATS, RECEIVING ORAL APPLICATIONS OF OXIDIZED SUNFLOWER OIL].

Oral applications of peroxidised sunflower oil (PSO) cause development of nephropathy, which can be prevented with the help of oral applications of the Biotrit phytogel containing bioflavonoids from wheat seedlings. The purpose of this work was to determine the renoprotective effect of the Biotrit phytogel under the influence of PSO on rats. The experiments were carried out on 18 white Wistar rats (females, 4-5 months, 210±12 g), divided into 3 equal groups: the first - control, received compound feed.

[Industrial medicine in production and processing of alloys based on copper].

In copper alloys production, workers engaged into the process are exposed to occupational hazards with leading one being high-dispersed dust of complex chemical composition. The workers of main occupations demonstrate increased prevalence of respiratory diseases, digestive diseases, peripheral nervous system disorders - that necessitates implementation of complex measures both in improvement of work conditions and in medical prophylaxis.

[Improvement in methodology of occupational risk evaluation].

The authors suggest to supplement a method evaluating individual occupational risk with tree blocks of occupational and non-occupational risk factors: index of sanitary legislation requirements fulfilment according to experts evaluation; lifestyle index with individual biologic and behavioral risk factors consideration; index of social well-being, considering social economic and social psychologic risk factors at workplace.
