In this study, novel anion photo-responsive supramolecular hydrogels based on cysteine-silver sol (CSS) and iodate anions (IO) were prepared. The peculiarities of the self-assembly process of gel formation in the dark and under visible-light exposure were studied using a complex of modern physico-chemical methods of analysis, including viscosimetry, UV spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, electrophoretic light scattering, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. In the dark phase, the formation of weak snot-like gels takes place in a quite narrow IO ion concentration range.

In pursuit of identifying less toxic hybrid compounds suitable for optoelectronic applications, we synthesized a novel homopiperazinium bromoantimonate(III), (CHN){SbBr}. It readily crystallized from an aqueous hydrobromic acid solution and was found to be stable both in air and upon heating up to 175 °C. The crystal structure of the new bromoantimonate(III) consisted of {SbBr} zigzag chains, which were composed of strongly trigonally distorted SbBr octahedral anions and CHN dications.

The term cancer immunoediting describes the dual role by which the immune system can suppress and promote tumour growth and is divided into three phases: elimination, equilibrium and escape. The role of NK cells has mainly been attributed to the elimination phase. Here we show that NK cells play a role in all three phases of cancer immunoediting.

Using nanotechnology, while improving the health of broiler chickens, it is possible to control and reduce the conflict of minerals in the intestines, and toxicity of and pollution by these elements. It could be shown that the antioxidant and immune modulation effects of nano selenium are significantly superior compared to other sources of selenium. In addition, improving the quality of meat products with the use of nano selenium has promising results in the future perspective of quality improvement and food safety.
