Botanical formulations are promising candidates for developing new biopesticides that can protect crops from pests and diseases while reducing harm to the environment. These biopesticides can be combined with permeation enhancer compounds to boost their efficacy against pests and fungal diseases. However, finding synergistic combinations of these compounds is challenging due to the large and complex chemical space.

The Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) spacecraft successfully performed the first test of a kinetic impactor for asteroid deflection by impacting Dimorphos, the secondary of near-Earth binary asteroid (65803) Didymos, and changing the orbital period of Dimorphos. A change in orbital period of approximately 7 min was expected if the incident momentum from the DART spacecraft was directly transferred to the asteroid target in a perfectly inelastic collision, but studies of the probable impact conditions and asteroid properties indicated that a considerable momentum enhancement (β) was possible. In the years before impact, we used lightcurve observations to accurately determine the pre-impact orbit parameters of Dimorphos with respect to Didymos.

Frame-based stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) has an established role in the treatment of tremor in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). The low numbers of studies of frameless approaches led to our prospective phase 2 open-label single-arm clinical trial (NCT02406105), which aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of CyberKnife frameless SRS. Twenty-three PD patients were irradiated on the area of the thalamic ventral nuclei complex with gradually increasing doses of 70 to 105 Gy delivered in a single fraction.

Innate Defense Regulators (IDRs) are short synthetic peptides that target the host innate immune system via an intracellular adaptor protein which functions at key signaling nodes. In this work, further details of the mechanism of action of IDRs have been discovered. The studies reported here show that the lead clinical IDR, SGX94, has broad-spectrum activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacterial infections caused by intracellular or extracellular bacteria and also complements the actions of standard of care antibiotics.

In general, use of the internet by patients in their healthcare is increasing. However, its use specifically among those with head and neck cancer in the UK has not been reported. The aims of this study were to report access to the internet by survivors of head and neck cancer, to indicate where it fits within their information sources, how they have used it, and how they might use it in future.
