Objective: To determine our institutional rate of venous thromboembolism (VTE) following minimally invasive surgery for endometrial cancer and to perform a cost-effectiveness analysis of extended prophylactic anticoagulation after minimally invasive staging surgery for endometrial cancer.

Methods: All patients with newly diagnosed endometrial cancer who underwent minimally invasive staging surgery from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2020 were identified retrospectively, and clinicopathologic and outcome data were obtained through chart review. Event probabilities and utility decrements were obtained through published clinical data and literature review.

This commentary argues that scaling fast growth firms drive economic development, even in recessionary periods. While the coronavirus induced the 'Great Lockdown' and its aftermath poses particular challenges, we argue that the crisis presents the entrepreneurial scholarly community with an opportunity to re-orientate our research. Rather than more narratives of business success in the face of adversity, the Great Lockdown presents us with a fresh opportunity to examine how scaling is affected by context, by luck and by the porous nature of business growth.

Deep CO emissions characterize many nonvolcanic, seismically active regions worldwide, and the involvement of deep CO in the earthquake cycle is now generally recognized. However, no long-time records of such emissions have been published, and the temporal relations between earthquake occurrence and tectonic CO release remain enigmatic. Here, we report a 10-year record (2009-2018) of tectonic CO flux in the Apennines (Italy) during intense seismicity.

In volcanoes with active hydrothermal systems, diffuse CO degassing may constitute the primary mode of volcanic degassing. The monitoring of CO emissions can provide important clues in understanding the evolution of volcanic activity especially at calderas where the interpretation of unrest signals is often complex. Here, we report eighteen years of CO fluxes from the soil at Solfatara of Pozzuoli, located in the restless Campi Flegrei caldera.

With the progress of image-guided localization, body immobilization system, and computerized delivery of intensity-modulated radiation delivery, it became possible to perform spine radiosurgery. The next question is how to translate the high technology treatment to the clinical application. Clinical trials have been performed to demonstrate the feasibility of spine radiosurgery and efficacy of the treatment in the setting of spine metastasis, leading to the randomized trials by a cooperative group.
