Prostate-specific antigen screening at low thresholds of men with pathogenic BRCA1/2 variants.

Background: Men with pathogenic BRCA1/2 variants are at higher risk of prostate cancer We included men with likely pathogenic/pathogenic (LP/P) variants in BRCA1/2 in a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screening program after cascade germline testing since 2014. PSA was tested yearly and an age-specific low PSA threshold for biopsy was used, to determine if a low PSA threshold for biopsy is justified for men with pathogenic BRCA1/2 variants.
Methods: From 2014 to 2023 a total of 340 men were included in the program.
Background And Objective: Evidence regarding perioperative results and long-term functional outcomes of robotic-assisted kidney transplantation (RAKT) is limited. We evaluated perioperative surgical results and long-term functional outcomes of RAKT in patients receiving kidney transplants from living donors.
Methods: This retrospective analysis is based on a prospective multicenter cohort study conducted from July 2015 to October 2023 across ten European centers.
Background: Kidney transplantation is the ultimate treatment for end-stage kidney disease. Function of the kidney graft is not only dependent on medical factors but also on a complication-free surgical procedure. In the event of major surgical complications, the kidney graft is potentially lost and the patient will return to the waiting list which may be long.

- This study aimed to introduce RAKT at Copenhagen University Hospital and evaluate early surgical outcomes using data from June 2022 to May 2023, involving both living and deceased donor cases.
- Results indicated favorable outcomes with 16 RAKTs performed, no major intra-operative events, a median operative time of 223 minutes, and a low 90-day complication rate, supporting the foundation for a future randomized trial comparing RAKT to OKT.
Purpose: Bacteremia is a well-known complication to surgery and may result in infective endocarditis (IE). Transurethral resection of the prostate (TUR-P) may give rise to bacteremia, but the associated risk of IE is not well described. We aimed to examine risk of infective endocarditis following TUR-P.
