Background: This narrative review was written by an expert panel to the members of the jury to help in the development of clinical practice guidelines on oxygen therapy.

Results: According to the expert panel, acute hypoxemic respiratory failure was defined as PaO < 60 mm Hg or SpO < 90% on room air, or PaO/FiO ≤ 300 mm Hg. Supplemental oxygen should be administered according to the monitoring of SpO, with the aim at maintaining SpO above 92% and below 98%.

Background: Patients with clinical T2N0 (cT2N0) gastric adenocarcinoma are recommended to undergo either perioperative chemotherapy or upfront resection. Article Synopsis
  • * A promising alternative is a 3D porous scaffold made with fused filament fabrication (FFF) technology combined with silver-doped bioactive glass-ceramic particles, which shows potential for helping bone regeneration and has antibacterial properties.
  • * The study evaluates the mechanical strength and antibacterial effectiveness of these scaffolds through various tests, demonstrating they are not only strong but also support cell growth, making them a viable solution for bone repair.

Background: Little is known about the prognostic significance of pancreatic duct (PD) dilation following pancreatoduodenectomy for intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN). Although PD dilation is typically the hallmark radiographic feature of IPMN, other causes of PD dilation exist, including anastomotic stricture, pancreatitis, senescence, and postsurgical passive dilation. Therefore, PD dilation after pancreatoduodenectomy for IPMN represents a diagnostic and management dilemma.

Introduction: Pancreatic cancer remains one of the deadliest cancers in the United States. Some types of pancreatic cysts, which are being detected more frequently and often incidentally on imaging, have the potential to develop into pancreatic cancer and thus provide a valuable window of opportunity for cancer interception. Although racial disparity in pancreatic cancer has been described, little is known regarding health disparities in pancreatic cancer prevention.
