A polyphasic approach was applied to characterize taxonomically a novel endophytic bacterial strain, designated as EP178, which was previously isolated from Passiflora incarnata leaves and characterized as plant-growth promoter. The strain EP178 forms Gram stain-negative and rod-shaped cells, and circular and yellow-pigmented colonies. Its growth occurs at 10-37 °C, at pH 6.

The DNA nanostructures are assembled from large single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) scaffolds, ranging from hundreds to thousands of nucleotides and from short staple strands. Scaffolds are usually obtained by asymmetric PCR (aPCR) or infection/transformation with phages or phagemids.

Methods: Between 2017 and 2021, 3 rounds of mass screening were carried out in 3 Brazilian prisons.
To synthesize novel more potent trypanocidal and leishmanicidal agents. Hantzsch's synthetic strategy was used to synthesize 1,3-thiazole-4-carboxylates and their -benzylated derivatives. 28 new thiazole-carboxylates and their -benzylated derivatives were established to test their trypanocidal and leishmanicidal activities.

Background: Several epidemiological studies have suggested that genetic variations in encoding pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) genes such as Toll Like Receptors (TLRs) and their signaling products, may influence the susceptibility, severity and outcome of tuberculosis (TB). After sensing a pathogen, the cell responds producing an inflammatory response, to restrain the pathogen's successful course of infection. Herein we assessed single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) and gene expression from pathogen recognition and inflammasome pathways in Brazilian TB patients.
