Size-controllable droplets were formed in a water in oil (W/O) emulsion using only hydrophilic polymers without a surfactant to fabricate porous micro-silica particles larger than 20 μm. Droplets of various size ranging from 1 to 30 μm were prepared by emulsifying aqueous solutions containing four types of polymers, namely polyethylene glycol (PEG), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), and polypropylene glycol (PPG), in a pentanol oil phase. Following the addition of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as a silica precursor, silica particles were grown via hydrolysis and condensation reactions.

This post hoc subgroup analysis of POLARIX evaluated the efficacy and safety of Pola-R-CHP versus R-CHOP in elderly patients ≥60, ≥65, ≥70, and ≥75 years. As of June 15, 2022 (median follow-up 40 months), 629 patients ≥60 years were included (Pola-R-CHP, n = 311; R-CHOP, n = 318).

Studies suggest post-operative fluid restriction (FR) reduces delayed hyponatremia. We present a prospective randomized controlled study evaluating post-EETS FR.

Lay down of the valve ECM begins during embryogenesis and continues throughout postnatal stages when it is remodeled into stratified layers and arranged according to blood flow. Alterations in this process can lead to dysfunction and, if left untreated, heart failure.
