DNA barcoding is an essential tool in modern biodiversity sciences. Despite considerable work to barcode the tree of life, many groups, including insects, remain partially or totally unreferenced, preventing barcoding from reaching its full potential. Aquatic insects, especially the three orders Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, and Trichoptera (EPT), are key freshwater quality indicators worldwide.

Modeling AeroForm tissue expander for postmastectomy radiation therapy.

The AeroForm chest wall tissue expander (TE) is a silicon shell containing a metallic CO reservoir, placed surgically after mastectomy. The patient uses a remote control to release compressed CO from the reservoir to inflate the expander. AeroForm poses challenges in a radiation therapy setting: The high density of the metallic reservoir causes imaging artifacts on the planning CT, which encumber structure definition and cause misrepresentation of density information, in turn affecting dose calculation.

Intramolecular trans-Carbocarbonation of Internal Alkynes by a Cascade of Formal anti-Carbopalladation/Cyclopropanol Opening.

An intramolecular cascade reaction consisting of a formal anti-carbopalladation terminated by the ring-opening of a cyclopropanol unit is presented. The products, which involve tetrasubstituted alkene units embedded in an oligocyclic ring system, are generated in moderate to excellent yield. The opening of the cyclopropanol unit leads to a keto group in the γ-position to the emerging double bond.

Mortality in Patients With Chronic Renal Disease Without Health Insurance in Mexico: Opportunities for a National Renal Health Policy.

Introduction: Despite a systematic increase in the coverage of patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) who have received dialytic therapies and transplantation over the past 2 decades, the Mexican health system currently still does not have a program to provide full coverage of ESRD. Our aim was to analyze mortality in patients with ESRD without health insurance.
