Herein, we report an open-air, photo accelerated atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of methyl methacrylate (MMA) without employing any deoxygenating agent. Under open-air photo ATRP conditions, oxygen reversibly binds with [{Cu (PMDETA)}(O )] to form the required activator, which was demonstrated by simple benchtop oxygen/nitrogen purging experiments. The binding mode of oxygen in (μ(η-η) peroxo dicopper(II)) was investigated using UV Visible-NIR, FT-Raman and X-ray photoelectron (XPS) spectroscopic techniques.

Yohimbine is a potent bioactive indole alkaloid, isolated from a variety of biological sources and has long been used as a natural stimulant and aphrodisiac, particularly to treat erectile dysfunction. However, some literature also points toward its anticancer effect in different experimental models. The current study aimed to address a clinical concern on the therapeutic utilization of yohimbine as a repurposed drug.

Prostate cancer (PCa) ranks as the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men. Diagnosing PCa relies on molecular markers known as diagnostic biomarkers, while prognostic biomarkers are used to identify key proteins involved in PCa treatments. This study aims to gather PCa-associated genes and assess their potential as either diagnostic or prognostic biomarkers for PCa.

The most important factors contributing to multi-drug resistance in oral cancer include overexpression of the EGFR protein and the downstream malignancy regulators that are associated with it. This study investigates the impact of solanine on inflammation, proliferation, and angiogenesis inhibition in multidrug-resistant oral cancer KB-Chr-8-5 cells through inhibition of the EGFR/PI3K/Akt/NF-κB signaling pathway. Cell viability was assessed using an MTT assay to evaluate cytotoxic effects.
