This work obtained zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) using organic components extracted from Waltheria americana at different concentrations. ZnO materials were subsequently applied in the photodegradation of two cationic dyes, Rhodamine B (RB) and methylene blue (MB), at different doses of catalyst and pH. The crystallinity and hexagonal Wurtzite structure of ZnO were established through XRD analysis.

A rapid, eco-friendly, and simple method for the synthesis of long-lasting (2 years) silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) is reported using aqueous leaf and petal extracts of L. The particles were characterized using UV-Visible spectrophotometry and the analytical and crystallographic techniques of transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The longevity of the AgNPs was studied using UV-Vis and high-resolution TEM.

In this work, the photocatalytic activity of nanoparticles (NPs) of zinc oxide synthetized by as a stabilizing agent was evaluated in the degradation of methylene blue (MB) dye under UV radiation. The theoretical study of the photocatalytic degradation process was carried out by a Langmuir-Hinshelwood-Hougen-Watson (LHHW) model. Zinc oxide nanoparticles were synthesized by varying the concentration of natural extract of Prosopis laevigata from 1, 2, and 4% (weight/volume), identifying the samples as ZnO_PL1%, ZnO_PL2%, and ZnO_PL4%, respectively.
