Background: Previous research has reported higher rates of both injury and illness among Paralympic athletes compared with Olympic athletes during the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, but no studies have directly compared injury and illness incidence between Olympic and Paralympic athletes competing in a Summer Games.

Purpose: To compare injury and illness rates between Olympic and Paralympic Team USA athletes competing in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The production of enzyme microcrystals for time resolved serial crystallography employing free electron laser or synchrotron radiation is a relatively new variation on traditional macromolecular crystallization for conventional single crystal X-ray analysis. While the fundamentals of macromolecular crystal growth are the same, some modifications and special considerations are in order if the objective is to produce uniform size, microcrystals in very large numbers for serial data collection. Presented here are the basic principles of protein crystal growth with particular attention to the approaches best employed to achieve the goal of microcrystals and some novel techniques, as well as old, that may be useful.

Assisted Dying (AD), the ending of a person's life pre-emptively under a legal criterion is widely debated, both in the United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland. The expectation is often those doctors closest to dying would be both the proponents and facilitators of this action.   • A systematic review analyzed 24 studies and found that hamstring tendon (HT) autografts had the highest failure rate at 11.8%, while bone-patellar tendon-bone (BPTB) and quadriceps tendon (QT) had lower failure rates at 7.9% and 2.7%, respectively.
  • The findings suggest that while HT is commonly used, BPTB and QT may be more effective options for reducing reinjury risk in young athletes undergoing ACL reconstruction.
